Piccolo Was once one of gokus rival enemys, A reincarnated Demon, Piccolo is from the Namekian race, Which means he is neither male or a female, He often trains gokus eldest son Gohan.

Tien Shinhan

Tien was also a enemy of Goku, Tien is useually always seen with his friend Chiaotzu.
After fighting and getting blasted by Goku’s Kamehameha Tien and Chiaotzu decide to become a student of Master Roshi

Gohan

Gohan is the eldest son of Goku and the first half Human half Saiyan, Shortly after Gohan is seen in the series he is abducted by Raditz.
Gohan inherits his name after Goku’s adoptive Grandfather Gohan.

Krillin

Krillin is first noticed in the Dragonball series as he becomes an student of Master Roshi, he is reconisable by the 6 burn marks on his forehead, Originally Krillin was also a rival of Goku.
Krillin eventually marries Android 18

Chiaotzu

Chiaotzu is mostly seen with his friend Tien Shinhan, He has telepathy and psychokinesis skills, He later self desctucts against Nappa in order to try to save Tien

Vegeta

Vegeta was originally a enemy, And the prince of the close-to-extinction Saiyan Race.
Vegeta’s original plan was to find all of the Seven Dragonballs and make a wish to become Immortal, Vegeta useually shows alot of rivalry against Goku as his natural fighting skills are supreme to his.

Trunks

Trunks is also a half Human Half Saiyan. He is the son of Vegeta and Bulma, Trunks later saves Goku by coming from the future in the Time Machine and brings back a antidote.

Yamcha

Yamcha was originally known as a theif and attempted to rob Goku, Oolong and Bulma of there hoi poi capsules and money. Yamcha also becomes a student of Master Roshi and in the later series also trains with King Kai

Goten

Goten is Goku’s Second son, He is trained by his older brother Gohan.
Goten later learns a Fusion Techinique with Trunks and they both transform to become Gotenks

Gotenks

Gotenks is the outcome of the Fusion Techinque from Trunks and Goten.
Gotenks transforms up to a Super Saiyan Level 3 during his training with Piccolo
